In this unit, we are going to study the Past Simple Tense. When to use it, how to build it and some difficulties which may appear. Let's go! When to use it? We use this tense mainly for finished actions in the past. How to build it? (Regular verbs) AFFIRMATIVE + We will follow this structure: SB + VERB + ED + COMPLEMENTS I PLAY ED BASKETBALL YESTERDAY NEGATIVE - SB + DIDN'T +VERB (INFINITIVE, NO -ED) + COMPLEMENTS I DIDN'T PLAY BASKETBALL YESTERDAY Be careful! Remind not to write -ed in the negative form! If you have written DIDN'T, forget about the -ed INTERROGATIVE ? DID + SB + VERB (INFINITIVE, NO -ED) + COMPLEMENTS DID YOU PLAY BASKETBALL YESTERDAY?
